Claude Close obituary

Born in Bradford, was educated at the school at Hornsea East Yorkshire. He began his acting career in local amateur theater with Mascot players. After A-levels, was trained as a health inspector in the hull. But the virus had bitten comedy and in 1977 won a place at the Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre. Claude was also good in serious roles, comedy, pantomime and musical theater. With her beautiful voice, he often saw and heard in the musical Sondheim, Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and.

Her theater roles including many Jimmy Sing Yer Heart Out for the guys in the York Theatre Royal, Major Old Farm in Bath Theatre Royal, and Francis White Devil, in the Haymarket, Leicester. It is the basis of both the dream of many a summer night - especially on the promenade of Williamson Park Playhouse Duke of Lancaster.
