"My guiltiest pleasure? Lash Extensions'

Susan Greenfield, 61, grew up in west London, where his father was an electrician and her mother a dancer. She studied psychology and neurochemistry at the University of Oxford. Since 1996, he was professor of pharmacology at Oxford, where he leads a research group on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. In 1998, he became the first woman director of the Royal Institution, but was controversially sacked in 2010. He received a CBE in 2000 and received a life peerage in 2001. His latest book, You and Me: neuroscience of identity, is published by Editions of Notting Hill


When was the best?

In 1978, worked in France for a year. Was the first time abroad.

Being physically dependent on others.


What is your earliest memory?

a blue coat with matching cuff horrible my mother made me wear. I was about two or three.


Which living person do you admire most and why?

Italian named A neurologist Rita Levi-Montalcini. It is now over 100. Mussolini was banned from practicing medicine because of the racial laws. And set up a laboratory in the basement of his house, and the work we were doing there laid the foundation for the Nobel Prize.


What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

say I'm impatient.


Apart from a property, which is the most expensive thing you bought?

A Giorgio Armani.


What is your most valuable asset?

my iPhone.

Keira Knightley.

telepathy.

Elizabeth I of England - that is my role model.

sucking my thumb when I'm concentrating.
