The Environment Agency, who worked with the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the London Development Agency and other partners on the site said he had helped to decontaminate ODA 2000000 tonnes of soil so that it can be reused.

On the river Lea, invasive species, including Japanese knotweed, Himalayan fir and Centella floating have been eliminated, with concrete walls, to improve stream habitat for wildlife and users.

said that organizations like the Environment Agency had helped make the site clean-up.
Olympic Park also features environmentally friendly facilities such as a plant water recycling and energy production to low-carbon energy sufficient to power more than 10,000 houses.
