inspired campaigns on fertility treatment in Northern Ireland and rail transport in Wythenshawe are among the winners of the Sheila McKechnie
Nineinspired militants in the UK were honored at a ceremony, the first step to see their work out and put it in the national and international cards.
They are the charity SMK 2011 Award winners, which are designed to recognize outstanding contributions being made by a new generation of activists towards the achievement of social justice, environmental and economic development in all the world.
Among the winners this year are Sharon Davidson, who promised to end the "postcode lottery", which reduced women's access to treatment against infertility in the social security Northern Ireland, and Marie-Blanche de Granville, who is coordinating a friendly service on behalf of former carers in Norfolk. Davidson told the judge how she was irritated by the insensitive treatment imposed on women who seek treatment for infertility - I had to walk through a maternity ward to get to the clinic
RingEugene won the transportation category for its campaign with others to open a train high Baguley, Wythenshawe, in the course of the railway line mid Cheshire. Witnessing a "social isolation" of young people of their peers in wealthier areas caused by them is "off track" or "bus-trap."
SMK is only UK charity dedicated to supporting militants across a wide range of issues. The company was founded in 2005 to commemorate Sheila McKechnie Give me a committed and effective activist, who spent much of his change of defense of life through organizations such as housing and what? / The Consumers' Association. The ceremony was hosted by the presenter of Channel 4 News Jon Snow and the SMK model, and presenters price includes 105 years of peace and former militant suffragette Hetty Bower.
The organization notes that there are hundreds of local activists, utilities, businesses and nonprofit sectors - people with courage and vision, often unsung heroes whose work benefits- all of us. However, the type of assistance they need to develop their potential field is rarely available and prices have been established to provide practical assistance through mentoring and support.
The awards - now in its sixth year - are for people in the early stages of the campaign, whether in a group of internal pressure or a charity campaign and those who campaign on a voluntary basis and are relatively new to the country as an activity.
Linda Boucher, executive director of SMK, said: "During this time of socio-economic instability, which is good to see a wide range of activists who work tirelessly to correct injustices, abuses, injustices and inequalities in society. These inspiring and tenacious individuals to show that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. We are proud to support the efforts of our winners "to come and look forward to working with them to a more just and equitable. "
